About IQRA
For decades, IQRA’ International Educational Foundation has been a leader in Islamic education. From the very beginning, our work has focused on developing high-quality resources that combine classical Islamic teachings with reliable contemporary educational methods. Our Story
The origins of IQRA’ go back to 1968, when the Ghazi family, while at Harvard University, sought a more thoughtful and well-rounded Islamic education for their children. They recognized the need for an approach that encouraged understanding, reflection, and personal growth, not memorization alone. With their academic background and experience, they developed a curriculum that blended traditional madrasah principles with strong educational methodology.
This vision led to the founding of IQRA’ International Educational Foundation in 1983. Their work became the foundation of the Program of Islamic Studies, which continues to serve educators, schools, and communities across the world.
